Great news, ladies! Judging from the hairstyles that have been hitting the red carpets recently, it looks like sleek hairstyles are on track to be the newest hairstyle trend. From Kim Kardashian rocking a sleek half-up hairstyle with Luxy Hair extensions at the Met Gala earlier this month, to Bella Hadid’s slicked down side part on the red carpet at Cannes, sleek styles are making a comeback in a big way. Guess what this means? These hairstyles are perfect for that second and third day hair and we couldn’t be happier.
Our beautiful friend Shivani joins us this week to create three, easy sleek hairstyles. These hairstyles can be created with or without hair extensions, however, Shivani uses her custom-cut 220g Dark Brown Luxies to really turn up the drama. View all three tutorials in the following video, or read on to learn how to create each sleek hairstyle.
1. Sleek Wrapped Top Knot
This hairstyle is perfect for a hot summer day when you want your hair out of the way in a sleek and fashionable way.
Step 1. Gather all your hair into a high ponytail, twist the hair onto itself, and wrap it into a top knot.
Step 2. Use some bobby pins to pin down any loose pieces in the back that may fall out. Pro tip: click here to learn the correct way to use a bobby pin for ultimate hold.
Step 3. Spritz your entire head with hairspray, and smoothen down any flyaways using a thin comb.
Step 4. Take a 2-clip weft from your Luxy Hair set and clip it onto the back of your bun.
Step 5. Wrap the loose hair around the base of the bun, then bobby pin the end down. This finishes the bun off, gets it looks nice and sleek, without any messiness.

2. Sleek Wrapped Ponytail
This look screams sleek and sexy, and is perfect for a night out on the town with your girlfriends. Haven’t washed your hair? Even better! Use your oily hair to your advantage to really nail that slicked down look.
Step 1. Trace a circle at the crown of your hear where your ponytail will be, and create a small ponytail to start.
Step 2. Take a 3-clip weft and clip it in, wrapping it around the ponytail you just created for added fullness.
Step 3. We love volume, so grab another 3-clip weft and wrap it around your ponytail again, clipping it on top of the first weft.
Step 4. You didn’t think we were done, did you? Add a 2-clip weft now, clipping it around the ponytail the same way as the first two wefts.
Step 5. Once you have your ponytail as full and thick as you want, it’s time to cover up all the wefts and create a sleek ponytail. Gather all your remaining hair from the front and back over the small ponytail, making sure to comb the front so it is nice and smooth. This will now create a big, beautiful ponytail with all the wefts hidden.
Step 6. Take a 1-clip weft and clip it in sideways at the base of your ponytail. Then, wrap the loose hair around the ponytail to hide the elastic and secure the end with a bobby pin.
Step 7. Generously spray hairspray over the front of your head, and smooth down any flyaways for that super sleek finish, using a comb if need be.

3. Sleek And Down
If having your hair up isn’t your thing and you’d rather have your hair down for a more glammed up look, this is the sleek hairstyle for you. Oily hair also works great for this hairstyle to help hold that slicked down hair.
Step 1. Take the end of a rattail comb and create a straight middle part.
Step 2. Separate your hair sideways at the top of your ear. Take a little section of hair at the back of your hair and backcomb it, then clip a 2-clip weft in. Backcombing the hair will ensure that the weft is more secure and doesn’t slip.
Step 3. Separate your hair about an inch above the first section. Backcomb the roots again, then clip a 3-clip weft in.
Step 4. Separate your hair again about another inch above the previous section. Backcomb the hair at the roots, then clip a 4-clip weft in.
Step 5. Once you are satisfied with the placement of your wefts and the thickness of your hair, take a comb and spray hairspray on it generously. Then, comb down your hair on either side.
Step 6. Here’s a little trick. Now, spray hairspray on the flat back of the comb, and press it down on either side of your hair to flatten any remaining flyaways.
